The Murraya koenigii is a tropical to sub-tropical tree. Native to India and Sri Lanka it is commonly called the Curry Leaf Tree. The leaves are used in many dishes in cooking as they are a fragrant, sweet leaf. They are a great houseplant not only for the added bonus of being able to use the leaves in cooking but also for the look of the plant. The foliage is a real standout and the delicate green leaves are arranged alternately on the stem. It is best to keep your Curry Leaf Tree indoors if you are in a cold climate area as they are frost tender. Position with bright, indirect sunlight. The Curry Leaf Tree requires moderately moist, well-draining soil. This plant will be a fantastic addition to any kitchen.
