The Rhipsalis cereuscula is native to Uruguay and Brazil and is commonly called Coral Cactus, Rice Cactus or Mistletoe Cactus. The Mistletoe Cactus is shrubby to bushy, epiphytic and can grow up to 50cm long. It forms small green stems, that look like tiny grains of rice. They are erect at first but as the Mistletoe Cactus matures they form bunches at the top of the stem, which droop as they grow heavier. Guard your Mistletoe Cactus against direct sunlight as it can burn the plant, causing it to yellow. Make sure it recevies plenty of indirect sunlight. If you have it near a window, be mindful that the glass can amplify the intensity of the sun. Even thought this plant is a cactus it is NOT drought resistant. It requires regular watering but don't over water as this can lead to weak stems. Water once the top layer of soil starts to dry.
