Adiantum fragrans (maidenhair fern)
A graceful fern with black stemmed fronds carrying soft, light green foliage, Ideal for indoors and patios. Maidenhair ferns are one of the classic indoor plants, they love a position with filtered light and will tolerate a fairly bright position like under a skylight or on a windowsill (but not one that receives full midday or afternoon sun).
If your maiden hair grows too large for its container they love to be potted up, pot into a larger container (approx 3 times the volume of the current one) add some slow release high nitrogen feed and watch them grow.
If your maidenhair fern dries out and dies it is OK! just cut it back about 2-5cm from the base, give it a good soak, feed it and it will start to send up new fronds.
